On 10 December, the workshop “Future-proof Filmmaking: Intelligent Tools for Pre-Production & Production” took place at Castello Volante, in Corigliano d’Otranto, one of the official pilot sites of the SCENE. The event brought together eight audiovisual professionals and project stakeholders for an in-depth, hands-on session focused on the practical use of intelligent technologies in film pre-production and production.
The workshop was designed as a structured training and validation activity, offering participants a detailed overview of the innovative tools developed within the SCENE platform. Each solution was presented with a strong emphasis on functionality, usability, and real-world application, demonstrating how data-driven and AI-enabled tools can support more efficient planning, coordination, and decision-making throughout the early stages of filmmaking. Participants explored how these technologies can be integrated into existing production workflows, enhancing creativity while optimising resources and time.
A key highlight of the event was the on-site technical testing of the Ultra-Wideband (UWB) system for actor tracking during filming activities. Led by Fondazione LINKS, the test was carried out in an operational environment, contributing to the technical validation of the solution under realistic production conditions and generating valuable feedback on its performance on set.
In parallel, AUTH contributed remotely by producing an audio simulation demo video that clearly presented the tool’s capabilities through a well-structured and easy-to-follow format. The video enabled participants to fully understand the simulation workflow despite the remote setting, while the AUTH team remained available throughout the session to answer questions and provide clarifications, ensuring an engaging and interactive exchange.
Overall, the workshop marked an important moment for the SCENE project, successfully combining training, demonstration, and validation activities in a real production context. By directly engaging with audiovisual professionals, SCENE partners had the opportunity to receive direct feedback and showcase the potential of SCENE Tools.
