The SCENE EU project held its 5th plenary meeting in Barcelona on 19.11 and 20.11.2024, a gathering that marked significant progress just before the project’s two-year milestone. This in-person meeting brought together partners from across Europe (7 countries) to exchange insights, showcase achievements, and coordinate the upcoming phases of the project.

A major highlight of the meeting was the launch of the Pilot Execution phase. At this stage, innovative tools developed within the project are starting to be implemented in real-world settings. This step ensures the tools are not only technically robust but also practically aligned with the requirements of local stakeholders and communities.

The plenary also featured:

  • Detailed presentations of ongoing work, including updates on system architecture, interoperability standards, and stakeholder feedback integration.
  • Showcasing advancements in AI and 3D digital tools, focusing on their potential to transform the way European cultural heritage is captured, preserved, and used within the filmmaking industry.
  • A review of audience engagement methodologies, with discussions on predictive tools designed to anticipate trends based on demographic and behavioral data.

The meeting provided a platform to align the efforts of all work packages, from system design and 3D modeling to blockchain-based intellectual property management and audience engagement tools. These interconnected efforts are critical in delivering a platform that supports the entire filmmaking value chain while promoting the richness of Europe’s cultural heritage.

Hosted in an Inspiring Setting

Fundación Épica La Fura dels Baus hosted the event in their premises, showcasing their commitment to creativity and cultural innovation. The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and a detailed roadmap for the months ahead.
